Giovanni Bettini, Head of Sales, MHI EMEA, has confirmed the sale of the 700th EVOL in the world. “It is a great hon- our to announce this milestone,’’ says Bettini. “This is an historic achievement for MHI.” The 700th EVOL has been sold to a European custom- er, who said, “We have prepared this project carefully with MHI’s professional sales team. It was clear from the begin- ning that we wanted to find a solution which would take us to the next level when it’s a question of top quality togeth- er with high efficiency.” The first ever EVOL, (which was replacing the previous S-X generation of FFGs), was launched to the market and delivered in 2003 to a customer in Japan. In 2005, the first EVOL was delivered to the US market, then in 2008, the first in Europe. After the introduction, MHI continues sharpening its runnability, productivity, and quality based on the feedback from the market and enhancing its overall performance with newly developed valuable features. “So the EVOL has been popular in the market for over 20 years now,” said Bettini. “Interestingly, those first three machines in each territory are still running in the original customer plants, proving the high quality and reliability of the machines, of course with regular maintenance under- taken by the customers.”
