Greetings in the blessed name of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is indeed an honor and delight to take this opportunity on behalf of First South Florida Missionary Baptist District Association to welcome you to the 57 th Annual Session of our District Congress of Christian Education. First, let me thank my friend and Host Pastor, Rev. Deryl A. Jones and the First Providence Church family for accepting the Congress. They have worked closely with our Director, Rev. Clem Bell, and his staff to plan a great week of training, fellowship, and worship. This Session is special to me in part because it’s my final year as Moderator of First South Florida District Association. Over the past 10 years I have had the great honor to work with our former Director Rev. Dr. Alex Harper, Sr., current Director Rev. Clem Bell, and Youth Director Rev. Leonard. And I want to thank these great Men for their diligence, dedication and devotion to the teaching and training arm of First South Florida. I pray that all of our Pastors and Churches will attend as well as bring their youth and children to the Congress. Keep in mind that you don’t want to miss the E. Armster Memorial Oratorical Contest which will be on Friday, June 13 th . Finally, please mark your calendars for 4pm, Sunday, June 29 th , we will have our 5 th Sunday Fellowship Service at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Plant City, and our Annual Business Meeting 10am, Wednesday, August 6 th at First Baptist Church of West Tampa.

Let’s continue to pray for each other and our Grand Ole Association.

Greetings First South Florida Missionary Baptist District Association!

Profound thanks to our precious Prince of Peace, Jesus, for this privilege to be present as we proceed into this session with pleasure.

Hallelujah to our LORD Jesus for the hospitality He is giving to us through this host Church, “The First Providence Missionary Baptist Church and their Pastor, The Reverend Deryl A. Jones, (our devoted Dean).

We bow in humble submission to our most merciful Master, Jesus, for giving to us our mission-minded Moderator, The Reverend Dr. Rayford Harper, his wife, Sister Jacqueline Harper, his cabinet, the Congress Presidents, their wives, their Congresses, Auxiliary Heads, their Auxiliaries, and all Delegates.

We thank our Jesus for your coming near and far to give and to get, leaving Bartow, First Providence and First South Florida Missionary Baptist District Association and returning to our mission better also. To Jesus be the glory.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares (Helene and Milton), we have already come, and with Jesus we shall overcome this hurricane season also. God’s Grace (Jesus) has brought us safe thus far and God’s Grace (Jesus) will bring us through.

Finally, we give special thanks to our LORD for the challenges of this season’s theme “Fulfilling the Great Commission from Mark’s Perspective” Mark 16:15-18, that broadens our horizons, because there are two sides to every story. We give special thanks to our Master Jesus for the wisdom and witnessing we received from Matthew’s side of the story, (Matthew 28:16-20). Therefore, it is time now to focus and fulfill Mark’s side of the story (Mark 16:14-18). AMEN? AMEN. AND AMEN!

Greetings and Salutations to each of you! We pray that all is well with each of you. Assistant Director Aaron Pickle, Assistant Director Deryl D. Jones, Youth President Ameera Williams, and I are excited about our upcoming 57th Annual Session of the Congress of Christian Education Auxiliary to the First South Florida Missionary Baptist District Association, on June 10-13, 2025. We are being hosted by Reverend Deryl A. Jones and First Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Bartow. This year, we have met and planned a very interactive and invigorating session for all who will attend. Moreover, we are reintroducing Competitive Bible Activities along with our afternoon activities such as, Choir, Praise Dance Ministry, Mime Ministry, and Usher’s Ministry. Furthermore, in an effort to encourage our rising seniors to participate in next year’s Oratorical Contest, we will be adding a special workshop geared toward aiding youth in preparing and presenting orations. We have also planned for the youth to have our traditional social outing as well. It will be a joyous occasion to see you in person and we pray that you will take home some new ideas, meet new friends, and more importantly strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ. In closing, we extend prayers to our God who can do any and everything! We pray for a successful and productive session this year. We are hopeful that you will be able to glean from words given by our chosen speakers and teachers. Furthermore, we encourage each of you to expand your efforts and use the knowledge gained as an aid in becoming strong disciples and Christian leaders in the many years to come.
