The world’s biggest travel and tourism event – WTM in London – is fast approaching and our participation this year is more important than ever, not just to hear from our trade partners, but to also keep our finger on the pulse of an industry that has endured unprecedented challenges. Our presence at WTM is not just a statement of resilience but a commitment to staying prepared when the time comes to welcome visitors again. By engaging with key players such as tour operators, airlines, and other stakeholders, we are laying the groundwork for when international travel returns to full capacity. These connections are critical, ensuring that when the day comes for general tourism to bounce back, we can hit the ground running with the right strategies and partnerships in place. In addition to maintaining industry relationships, WTM offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with our key audiences, particularly the Jewish and Christian communities. These groups have been instrumental in shaping our visitor base in the last year, and continuing to nurture these relationships will be pivotal in ensuring a smooth return to pre-pandemic tourism levels. Meeting with partners, even during this time of uncertainty, helps strengthen existing collaborations and fosters innovative ideas for increasing visitation, particularly in niche markets that have remained resilient despite global travel restrictions. In essence, participation at WTM is more than just a checkbox on the travel and tourism calendar – it is an essential part of ensuring we remain visible, relevant, and prepared for the industry’s inevitable recovery. Through these ongoing efforts, we will be ready for the return of tourism, ready to welcome visitors, and ready to rebuild stronger than before.
