YMCA Camp Dakani is back!
Building bridges to fun, friendship and growth
Campers enjoy a wide range of activities designed to balance fun and growth, from zip lines and low ropes challenges to hiking, creative arts and outdoor cooking. Older campers can take part in Teen Camp, created for those ready for more independence and new challenges, blending adventure, leadership and creativity in a supportive environment. Each week offers rotating themes and specialty camps that appeal to a variety of interests. Dress Up Theme Thursdays range from superheroes and pirates to dino discoveries and the Wild West. Specialty camps offer options such as traditional sports, survival skills and target sports to creative pursuits like leather crafts, wearable art, performance, woodworking, cooking and gardening. These experiences give campers something new to look forward to each week while strengthening confidence, teamwork and a lasting connection to the outdoors.
After a one-summer pause, Camp DaKaNi in Oklahoma City returns this summer under the leadership of the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City. This partnership brings expanded programming while preserving the traditions that generations of campers have cherished for nearly 70 years. What makes YMCA Camp Dakani unforgettable? A creative summer camp full of hands-on adventures, daily art projects, exciting experiments and imaginative exploration. Each week features a unique theme, ranging from master builders to famous inventors. Held three days a week for children ages 4 to 12.
Campers will enjoy 5 days of sewing fun. The camp fee of $299 includes a starter sewing kit, printed instructions and fabric kits & supplies; plus, upon completion of camp each participant will receive a sewing machine, valued at $199. There will be two sessions per week, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
ArtWorks Academy offers a variety of summer camps for students ages 3-18 for a summer of creative fun. Performing arts camps focus on dance, theatre, music and art. Students can also audition to be in a play or musical.
