Commercial Steers We sent 79 home-raised CharX steers to finish on feed at Montezuma, KS in January of 2025. They had an average calving date of April 10, 2024 and were killed on July 10, 2025. With the current beef shortages, the efficiency of steers in the current 2026 market is a critical factor in ad- dressing persistent beef shortage.
