Earlier in the semester, Mrs. Poole was a student in the evening school at Biola. In El Centro, Calif., her former home, she had served as President of the Baptist Young People’s Union in the First Baptist Church of El Centro. Mr. Poole will value the prayers of members of the Institute family as he continues his training for the Lord’s service. Growing Church Cooperates with Biola In Hermosa Beach, Calif., the Commun ity Baptist Church, of which Harold A. Eaton is pastor, has subscribed $1,023.00 for the Biola “ G o Forward” Campaign. This church believes that the work of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles in training young men and women for Christian work is of the utmost importance, and worthy of whole-hearted support. The success of the church’s plan to cooperate with Biola is due in large measure to the enthusiasm of Mr. Eaton, whose contacts with Bible Institute leaders and with the work of the institu tion have been of an intimate nature. Mr. Eaton came to the Community Church from the South Park Baptist Church in Los Angeles,- May 1, 1935,. and in the period that has followed, more than 150 be lievers have been added to the membership of his Hermosa Beach pastorate. The Com munity Church believes in the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and Pastor Eaton has been careful to preach and teach the Word throughout his ministry. The church is located at 1215 Manhattan Avenue, and visitors are urged to attend. It is from among Bible-taught and Spirit- guided men and women, such as are found in the Community Baptist Church of Her mosa Beach and elsewhere, that the Lord is raising up friends to pray for and sup port the work of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, and for each of them Biola offers to Him grateful praise.
