the truth of Christ's h and triumphant resurrec– tion, there is one word which is keynoted in the entire scene, "VICTORY." The story is told of how the news of the battle of Waterloo was received in England. Tradition tells us that soiling
ships came to the south coast of the islands and by signal flogs, wig-wagged to the tower of the Cathedral of Winchester. When the message come, hearts failed for fear as the words were spelled out: "W-E-L-L-1-N-G-T-O-N D-E-F-E-A-T-E-D," and then the fog descended and hid the signal from view. All of London was shocked ond the people felt their country hod been entirely lost in this strategic bottle. But ofter o while, the fog lifted, and the signals still come through with the complete sentence: "WELLINGTON DEFEATED ••• NAPOLEON!" Immediately the thrilling news roced across hill and vole, and lifted all hearts from gloom to joy ond victory. So the heavy gloom ond despair of Calvary fled before the victory of the open tomb. Out of all the dork shadows, our hearts leap, for we as Children of God through faith in Jesus Christ con soy, "But thanks be unto God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Yes, the resurrection puts the seal of reality on this great central truth of scripture • • • that we ore His for all eternity. It is our prayer here at BIOLA that you too may realize the tremendous importance of the Good News of Salvation's Story today in your own heart and life.
