Hear from a Graduate Nicole O’Doherty, RCN, Letterkenny University Hospital “I chose to study at Trinity because during my undergraduate course I loved my paediatric placement. I wanted to pursue a course in children’s nursing, but I knew I would not be able to move to Dublin full-time due to other commitments. When I found out about the hybrid course, I knew I had to jump at the opportunity. This allowed me to carry out my lectures from my own home and only have to travel to Dublin once a week. I loved being a student at Trinity, the lecturers were always more than willing to help if I had any issues. It has led me to pathways I never even thought of. Currently I am working on a general children’s ward and am moving to ED in the new year. The course has equipped me with a new set of skills and a greater knowledge into children’s nursing. It has expanded my career prospects and opened new doors to specialise in leadership positions, clinical nurse specialist roles and advanced nurse practice opportunities in the future.”
