Hear from a Graduate Aidan Butler, (Retired) Clinical Placement Coordinator and R.N.I.D, Stewarts Care “Trinity has a wonderful reputation...I had a great sense of pride being a Trinity student. As I reflect upon my nursing career, I realise that obtaining an MSc in Gerontological Nursing had a pivotal role in fulfilling my dream of becoming a Clinical Placement Coordinator. My discipline was Intellectual Disability Nursing and gaining a Master’s involved researching a relevant topic [in the field]. I thoroughly enjoyed interviewing service users. As a result of having a Master's I feel I was a very good role model to student nurses and my colleagues. I would highly recommend studying for a Master’s in Gerontological Nursing. During placements I was extremely proud to work alongside nurses from a discipline outside my own. I went outside my comfort zone and vastly expanded my nursing knowledge. I especially liked undertaking qualitative research.”
