Mental Health – Child, Adolescent and Family Strand

Master’s/Postgraduate Diploma Part-time, 2 Years Master’s/Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate Part-time, 3 Years

Brief Overview This programme is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and collaboration between disciplines working with children, adolescents and families with mental health problems. Structure (Timeline/Days in Class) Postgraduate Certificate: Commences with a full week in September and thereafter one day per week for the remainder of the academic year. Master’s/Postgraduate Diploma: Year One: Commences with a full week in September and thereafter one or two days per week for the remainder of the academic year. Students may take clinical placements in relevant care settings. Year Two: Attendance at classes throughout the academic year. If completing the Master’s, you will also carry out research and the writing of a dissertation.

Career Opportunities As a graduate of this course, you can expect that the specialist knowledge that you have acquired during this programme, combined with your existing knowledge and skills, will prepare you for leadership or enhanced roles across a variety of sectors. This includes advanced clinical practice, CAHMS, policy development, education, social work, psychology/ psychotherapy or research and further education.
