THE K I N G ’S BUS I NES S and earned five more pieces of money. Now listen to what his master said unto him. “Well done, thou good and faith ful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things fI gave thee, I will now give thee many things, and thou shalt come and live in my house and be happy with me there.” Now the servant who had received two pieces of money came and told how he had worked and earned two more. This servant was also glad to see his master, and the master told him the same thing he had told the servant with the five pieces, so you see God expects us to be faithful in our work and do our best. Now just look at the servant who re ceived the one piece of money. He is not glad to see his master at all, for he has not been faithful, for he hid his money and did not work to earn more. The master told him he was a disobedi ent and careless servant, and so he took away the one piece of money and gave it to the one who had ten pieces. In this story the master means Christ, who has gone to heaven to stay for awhile. We do not know how long He will stay, but we know He is coming back. The servants are all of us whom He has left to work for Him in this world. The pieces of money mean what He has given us to work with. Some of us have many talents or things to work with, and some only a few. When Jesus comes again He will reward those who have worked for Him, but He will punish those who have not worked for Him, but just for them selves. If we love Jesus we will want to work for Him in every way we can, and even if we can not do as much as some other folks we can do our best, just as little Clara and Prank did their best and won their father’s praise. Our memory verse will help us to remember this story. Whatsoever thy hand find- eth to do, do it with thy might; That means to do it in the best way we can. O how happy we will be to see Jesus when He comes if we have been faith-

girl whose name was Clara got dinner for her father when he came home in the evening, and her little brother Prank helped all he could. Now do you think Clara could cook as weil as her mother could? No, for she was just a little girl, but her father said he was proud of his little daughter and son, because they had done their best. Praytr. Lesson Story.—In our story today Jesus is telling a story to show tis that we each have a work to do, and He knows some can do more work than others. He told of a man who went on a long journey into a far country, but before he went, he called his servants together and gave them some money, and asked them to take the money and earn some more with it while he was away. To one servant ne gave five pieces of money, to another two, and to another only one. Of course the man expected each servant to be faithful and do his best, even though he was away from them and could not see what they were doing. The servant who received the five pieces of money used it in his work and gained five more pieces, and the one who had the two pieces did the same, until he had earned two more pieces. The servant who had received the one piece, was not faithful to his master like the other two, and did not work while his master was away, but hid the one piece of money in the ground, and did not earn any more money. After a long time the master of these servants returned home, and called his servants together and asked them what they had done while he was away. The servant who had received the five pieces was very happy and glad to see his mas ter, and told him how he had worked
