THEISTIC EVOLUTION One of the most valuable recent works on the subject of Evolution we have seen is Alfred Fairhurst's work “Theistic Evolution” published in 1919 by Stand­ ard Publishing Co. ($1.25). He pre­ sents the subject in a way that the ordi­ nary student can readily gr,asp and gives ample evidence from the statements of modern scientists showing the complete collapse of the evolutionary hypothesis. Statements of the Bible where the} touch upon scientific subjects are shown to be correct. CAN A YOUNG MAN TRUST HIS BIBLE? This paper bound book by Arthur Gook is having its fourth issue, Picker­ ing and Inglis publishers. (20 cents.) This is just the thing to put into the hands of young people having so-called intellectual difficulties concerning the Bible. The book takes up some of the stock objections to the Bible and, clears away the difficulties. THE GOSPEL IN LEVITICUS I This new book by Eleanor H. Boyd in paper cover is 50 cents. Leviticus is a neglected and misunderstood book and some think it a waste of time to study it. This work shows the true significance of the rites and ceremonies and brings out precious Gospel truths. Jesus is seen in every detail. Leviticus becomes one of the pivotal books of the Bible. THE MEANING OF THE CROSS This is another book by Eleanor H. Boyd (25 cents). It is excellent to put into the hands of those not instructed in fundamental truths. There are three chapters, devoted to the subjects of Par­ don, Peace and Power or in other words, Redemption, Justification, Sanctification. THE NEXT WORLD CRISIS This book by Rev. Grant Stroh was formerly published under the title “When God comes down to Earth.” It is reissued with an introduction by Dr. James M. Gray. The book deals especi­ ally with the conditions of unrest and uncertainty in every nation and the wars

that are now looming. It sets forth what the Bible teaches on the approach­ ing world crisis and its outcome and is very timely and helpful for these days ($1.50), . SPIRITISM AND THE FALLEN ANGELS This is a new book by Dr. James M. Gray, published by Revell Co. ($1.50). Dr; Gray discusses the present revival of Spiritism and traces it tp its early orig­ ins. Those who wish to become thor­ oughly posted on what the Bible really teaches about this matter will be glad to get this book. THE PROBLEM OF THE PENTA­ TEUCH This book by Dr. Melvin G. Kyle, pro­ fessor of Biblical Theology and Arch­ aeology, Xenia Seminary, is a compan­ ion volume of his former valuable arch­ aeological books, namely, “The Decid­ ing Voice of the Monuments” and “Moses and the Monuments.” Those who are looking for positive proof of the inspiration of the Bible and especially the much questioned portions of the Old Testament, should have all three of these books. ($2.50). THE SUMMARIZED BIBLE This book by K. L. Brooks is now hav­ ing its second edition and will come w'ith some valuable revisions and additions. On each chapter of the en­ tire Bible a new paragraph is added showing how Christ is seen in the chap­ ter. The promises made in each chapter are shown as well as the strong exhorta­ tions. In the front of the book a topical index of all Bible events and facts is supplied so that one can locate Bible material without the use of a concord­ ance. A.daily calendar of Bible reading is provided by which one may read the entire Bible in exactly a year. Another valuable new feature is a topical index of the precious promises of the Bible enabling one to find the best promises for whatever occasion may arise. (Biola Book Room, $1.75).
