Henry Whitley Tribute
Mr. James Henry Whitley, 94 of Horton, Alabama, was born on June 2, 1931, to Henry Grady and Mavis Gunter Whitley and passed away on September 2, 2025. He was a devoted family man that supported his church, community and family his entire life. Farming was his chosen way of living and he produced all commodities in his career. Mr. Whitley is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Jane Whitley; his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kathy Whitley; his son, Timothy Whitley; his grandson and spouse, James Ray and Natalie Whitley; his great grandchildren, Jackson Henry Whitley, Rayna Whitley, and Max Whitley; and his sister-in-law, Rebecca Whitley. Many great Red Angus breeders have been involved with the SERAA Grasstime for the past 35 years and none have contributed to the interest and success of this auction more than the Whitley family. Henry was steadfast in his love for Red Angus cattle and the people who raised them. This 2026 SERAA Grasstime catalog is dedicated to Henry Whitley.

Welcome to the 35th Annual Grasstime Auction To say the SERAA Grasstime auction has stood the test of time would be a major understatement. After 35 consecutive years (take out 2020 Covid year), there have been a lot of great Red Angus breeders and cattle represented through the Cullman Stockyard sale ring.
