Dick Karre grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He obtained a

bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska, and a law degree from the University of Texas. He and his wife, Jill, reside in Colorado, but have spent the last twenty winters in Tucson. Artist Statement As a landscape painter, I often find that the analytical processes that served me well as a lawyer, get in the way of a successful painting. Several years ago, I enrolled in Lisa Mishler’s abstract painting class. In it, I have begun to “unlearn” much of what I used in my law career (at least

the benefits of creating art to the entire community. The Drawing Studio offers affordable fee-based and free classes and workshops, hosts events and exhibits, and fosters awareness of the positive effects of creativity on individuals. The mission is to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to embrace art practice as a pathway to person growth and healthy community. PCOA and The Drawing Studio proudly partner to feature original work by older artists in Pima County in Never Too Late , celebrating and showcasing the creativity of older adults in our community.
