FG Mini 25z & 50z Operation Manual

Engineered and assembled in Silicon Valley, Mountz Torque FG preset precision torque screwdrivers are the most advanced hand tools in the world. Torque range suitable for micro, low, and medium torque applications. The small, ergonomic handle design perfectly fits the operator's hand and reduces fatigue during those extended assembly operations. The tool's compact size makes it versatile for applications with limited space access. Preset torque screwdrivers improve productivity by consistently applying the correct torque value to each fastener. They are ideal for fastening applications where operators repeatedly assemble parts at the same torque setting. A preset screwdriver doesn't have an external torque adjustment scale. These tools have an internal torque adjustment mechanism for setting and preseting the torque value using a hex key and a torque analyzer. The locking mechanism prevents accidental torque setting changes. Designed for industries where production errors aren't acceptable, poka-yoke torque screwdrivers prevent over-torque events. It doesn't require much force to over-torque miniature fasteners in critical medical devices, aerospace instruments, or microelectronics applications. With our cam over clutch mechanism, the mini FG preset screwdriver allows engineers and operators to consistently apply the correct torque value to any small fastener and helps prevent costly over-torque events. Using preset tools ensures operators cannot tamper with driver settings on the assembly line. Quality-minded engineers can give Mountz FG tools to any operator and have the confidence that they will deliver the correct torque, time after time.

Maintenance Schedule Like an automobile, torque screwdrivers contain moving parts that require periodic servicing and lubrication.

Period Between Resetting of Torque 5,000 fastening operations. It is acknowledged that some tools may achieve 5,000 operations in a relatively short period of time. Under these circumstances, the user may decide, with the benefit of their experience, to increase the period between calibration intervals. Routine Maintenance After 50,000 operations, strip, clean, and re-grease the spring, bearings, and internal components. Any worn components should be replaced. Note: Any tool that is dismantled during its life must be re-lubricated in accordance with the Mountz recommendations. Do not clean tools by immersing them in a solvent, as this will destroy the internal lubrication and cause the tool's failure. Testing and Servicing Torque tools go out of calibration with use. Calibrating a torque tool is a fine-tuning process of bringing the tool back within its tolerance. Regular torque calibration of a hand screwdriver ensures accuracy, repeatable tool performance, and adherence to international standards. We recommend a general once a year calibration interval. However, the user's organization must determine suitable intervals based upon equipment performance, application, degree of usage, and management objectives.
