agriCULTURED INDUSTRY FEATURE agriCULTURED Tasmania’s Festival of Gastronomy is back. From July 31 to August 3, 2025, Launceston transforms into a hub of culinary innovation and cultural celebration honouring the growers, makers and producers of Northern Tasmania with the annual agriCULTURED festival. From hands-on, flavour-filled farm visits, to fermentation and zero waste workshops and chef- led feasts of locally grown ingredients, each of agriCULTURED’s curated experiences is designed to start conversation and warm winter bellies. Featuring over a dozen free and ticketed events across the four days, the event incorporates interactive food experiences that focus on bringing people together through shared cooking, learning, and connection. The festival kicks off on Thursday July 31 with a Free- to-attend Community Day, where members of the community from Launceston’s Northern Suburbs will join OzHarvest and Material Institute Chefs in the kitchen to co-create a delicious, nourishing meal. After the session, participants will serve and enjoy the meal alongside public guests, creating a shared table experience that promotes dignity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.

In the evening join acclaimed chef Massimo Mele and the producers he works with for the ever-popular Meet the Producers Dinner at Grain of the Silos, the evening will showcase the best of Northern Tasmania’s produce and the hands that grow it. Friday’s Conversations in the City at Peppers Silo Hotel delves into the pressing challenges of the agri-food sector. Veteran broadcaster Simon Marnie will emcee the conversations, with festival ambassador and grow- it-local advocate Paul West joining a lineup of industry experts. Discussions and panels will span climate resilience, food security, agritourism, innovation,
