Clubs Tasmania Sports Luncheon
Australian sporting icon and Clubs Tasmania Ambassador David Foster, a long-time advocate for regional sport, will visit community clubs and pubs across Tasmania, distributing campaign materials and sharing his message of unity and passion for the game.
In a passionate display of unity, Clubs Tasmania gathered club leaders and volunteers across the North West Coast for a spirited luncheon that celebrated community sport and backing Tasmania’s journey to AFL inclusion. The event was held by Clubs Tasmania at Devonport Country Club, and shone a spotlight on the vital role grassroots sport plays in the state’s social fabric and economic wellbeing. Central to the event was a keynote address by Tasmania Devils Football Club CEO, Brendon Gale, who spoke with purpose about the team’s bold pursuit of AFL status – and what it means for everyday Tasmanians. “This is bigger than football,” Mr Gale told the crowd. “It’s about pride, identity, and giving our kids a team they can grow up supporting - one that belongs to them.” The event marked the official launch of the new ‘Together, we are the team’ campaign, a collaborative initiative between the Tasmania Devils and the THA, with Clubs Tasmania playing a central role in the afternoon.

This fee had become an unnecessary barrier to volunteering in a time of rising living costs and increasing regulation. Many other states do not charge volunteers a fee for an equivalent registration, while Tasmania’s fee is also the highest.
This is a fantastic result for the thousands of volunteers who are the backbone of our community and sporting
