A HEARTFELT WELCOME TO THE HANSEN FOUNDATION’S 29TH ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT!
Dear friends,
On behalf of Roger, Jennifer, myself and the entire Hansen Foundation Family, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 29th annual golf tournament. Hard to believe that it has been 29 years since our first event. Time certainly does fly! Over the years we have been overwhelmed with gratitude to see all your familiar faces as we come together, united by our shared purpose of supporting individuals on their recovery journey. This day is about so much more than golf; it’s about gathering collectively to make a real difference in the lives of those struggling with addiction. Your support gives us the opportunity to instill hope in people who feel hopeless. At the Hansen Foundation, our goal is to work with all individuals looking to heal from the traumas of their disease. Sadly, the proper resources are not always accessible to those who want help. That is why today is so important – we thank you from the bottom of our hearts as the proceeds from this event go to helping all members of our beautiful community get the assistance they need – whether they can afford it or not. We extend our sincerest gratitude to our generous sponsors and donors for your incredible contributions. We also want to thank our dedicated volunteers and employees who worked so hard to make today possible. Thank you for your participation. Have a fabulous day on the course and enjoy the friendly competition!
Love, Jennifer , Edwina and Roger .

OUR HISTORY & MISSION
The Hansen Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Atlantic County, New Jersey, was founded in 1999 by Jennifer Hansen, who began her personal journey in recovery over 30 years ago. Upon returning home to New Jersey, Jennifer was alarmed by the lack of resources available for individuals in her community struggling with substance use disorders. The Foundation was born from her vision to restore dignity and hope to those impacted by addiction. The mission of The Hansen Foundation is to transform lives in recovery by offering housing, life skill development, advocacy, access to treatment, and recovery support. We strive to create inclusive, structured environments that promote wellness, self-sufficiency, and long- term sobriety.

TESTIMONIALS
HISTORY After losing my uncle to suicide and my best friend to addiction while still in high school, I turned to drugs as my own escape. For a while, I managed to hold things together - finishing high school, earning a spot in college, and playing baseball at a high level. But only six months into my freshman year, the drugs consumed me. They stripped away everything I valued, and I found myself in and out of rehabs and institutions. A TURNING POINT: ENLIGHTENED RECOVERY Everything changed when I found Enlightened Recovery. Walking through those doors almost three and a half years ago was the start of a new life. The compassionate staff provided unwavering support and personalized care, helping me face the deeper reasons behind my substance use. Their program equipped me with the tools, confidence, and hope to rebuild. I live a full life today and I owe a lot of that to my beginnings with Enlightened Recovery.
RYAN
FINDING COMMUNITY IN SERENITY HOUSE Choosing to stay at Serenity House sober living was one of the hardest decisions I ever made, but it saved my life. There, I discovered community and built strong bonds with other men in recovery, finally finding the sense of belonging I had been missing for so long. SOLID ROOTS Through the Solid Roots program, I gained steady employment and learned the value of dependability, which led to a job with Ole Hansen & Sons maintaining Enlightened properties. With time, I also returned to school to further my education. PURPOSE AND GIVING BACK Today, I’m proud to be deeply involved with both Enlightened Recovery and the Hansen Foundation. As Head of Alumni, I have the privilege of giving back what was given to me: purpose, community, and the reminder that recovery can be meaningful and even fun!

ROOTS IN SOUTH JERSEY Diane grew up in Atlantic City as the youngest of four sisters in a loving Italian family. After high school, she began her career in the casinos—work that was exciting and offered her financial stability. She later married her husband, John, and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Gianna and Dominique. Their life reflected the best of shore-town living—beach days, boating, and Sunday dinners surrounded by family. THE BEGINNING At just 19, Diane was prescribed opiates for chronic pain caused by long hours on her feet. What started as a source of relief slowly grew into dependency, setting in motion a struggle that would shape the years ahead.
DIANE
BEHIND THE FAÇADE From the outside, Diane had it all – an incredible family, a career she loved, and stability. But inside, she was battling anxiety, pain, and a growing reliance on substances. She agonized, knowing that even her love for her daughters, her entire world, was not enough to keep her sober.
THE TURNING POINT
Diane made the call to come to treatment on February 14th of 2020. She recalls that nothing bad had happened that day, but that she was overwhelmed with a feeling of being done. She walked downstairs and told her husband she was leaving to go to Enlightened Recovery Detox. She had tried to get sober a few times before, but this was the first time she made the call herself.
FINDING HOPE IN RECOVERY
From detox, Diane entered Enlightened Recovery’s PHP program, where she remembered feeling truly cared for and supported. She had been to other treatment centers but the support she received from the staff at Enlightened created a space where she felt safe and could be honest. Diane’s mother sadly passed away a few months after she had completed her stay. Stricken with grief, Diane’s first call was to her therapist at Enlightened, who immediately picked up the phone and walked her through that painful experience. Diane stayed sober and continued her journey, becoming an active member in a 12-step fellowship and even becoming a manager of one of our sober livings.
A LIFE RECLAIMED
Over 5 years later, Diane is still sober and living a life that she values. To know Diane, is to know one of the funniest and kindest women on earth. Her laugh and warmth are undeniable. She is a dedicated volunteer, working with various organizations that provide support to individuals struggling in Atlantic City. She is a Supervisor at the Downbeach Bridge - A job that she loves. Most importantly for her, she is a wife and a mother - who has the love of her family. She lives in gratitude every day and wakes up excited for what is ahead. We are so proud of her.

THE SILENT ACHIEVERS OF THE HANSEN FOUNDATION
At the Hansen Foundation, leadership means more than titles — it means vision, dedication, and collaboration. The strength of our mission has always been carried out by the people who give their time, energy, and hearts to ensure recovery is possible for all who seek it. CHARLIE BRANDT Few embody this more than Charlie Brandt, who has been part of the company for more than 15 years and a leader within the Hansen Foundation for the last decade. Charlie works for Enlightened Recovery, but we are fortunate enough that he shares his time to work with us here at the Foundation. From the beginning, Charlie has been with Edwina, working side by side to be the driving force behind the Foundation’s mission. Over the years, he has served consistently as a steady hand and trusted partner. Today, we are fortunate to learn from him — not only as the Director of Digital Marketing, but as a role model who inspires others to carry the mission forward. Charlie has had an up close and personal view of the Foundation’s growth. He understands the dedication and effort that goes into planning each event, initiative, and program. Charlie is committed to this pursuit because he has seen how hard work multiplies into countless lives transformed. His steadfastness and readiness to serve wherever needed has helped define the culture of our organization. KATIE DELCHER Katie Delcher, Marketing Operations Coordinator, ensures our story reaches the wider community and brings events like today’s tournament to life. Katie is incredibly busy as she shares her time between Enlightened Recovery, Downbeach Express, and working with us here at the Foundation. She is often the first face you see when walking into our offices—one of the earliest to arrive each day, always greeting everyone with a smile. Her devotion and versatility shines through as she wears many hats, from answering phones to managing countless essential administrative tasks. Over the past year, Katie has eagerly expanded her skills, becoming a pivotal member of our daily operations. She plays a key role in our social media presence and was instrumental in launching our online retail store. Katie’s enthusiasm and dedication make her an invaluable part of our team. She reminds us that it’s the people working diligently behind the scenes who truly keep our mission moving forward. This spirit of leadership carries through the entire team. In addition to Charlie and Katie, there is also Bill Koroncai - Vice President of Development, Ryan Stowell – Alumni Coordinator, and Reagan Tangney – Associate Director. Together, each brings a unique strength, and it is their collective effort that makes our mission possible. We would be remiss not to mention all the employees that work under the Ole Hansen, Enlightened Recovery, and Downbeach Express umbrella. From the maintenance team to the clinicians, we are so grateful for their support and hard work. As we gather here today, our team recognizes that our work is possible because of you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to pursue our passion!

ENLIGHTENED RECOVERY LAUNCHES MENTAL HEALTH IOP IN VENTNOR, NJ
“Millions of Americans are silently struggling with mental health challenges, and too many face barriers to accessing effective treatment,” Matt Stilley, Chief Clinical Officer, Enlightened Recovery . “At Enlightened Recovery, we believe in creating programs that not only meet clinical needs but also inspire hope. This program was built to give individuals the tools, support, and dignity they deserve on their path to healing.” The numbers make clear the urgency. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) , more than 1 in 5 U.S. adults—approximately 60 million people—experience mental illness each year . Even more alarming, nearly 50% of adults with a mental health condition go untreated due to lack of access, stigma, or insufficient resources. By launching the Mental Health IOP in Ventnor, Enlightened Recovery is breaking down barriers. The program provides structured, flexible care for individuals who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy but who may not require the intensity of inpatient treatment. It fills a critical gap, ensuring that more people can access the right level of care at the right time. The expansion into primary mental health treatment reflects Enlightened Recovery’s deep understanding that healing is multifaceted. Substance use disorders often overlap with mental health conditions and addressing one without the other leaves recovery incomplete. By offering a dedicated mental health IOP, the organization strengthens its ability to serve the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. At Enlightened Recovery, we understand that the challenges of today demand new solutions—and that the same passion, rigor, and dedication that made us impactful in addiction treatment can make a transformative difference in mental health care as well.

THE HANSEN FOUNDATION EXPANDS RECOVERY RESIDENCES TO THE MAIN CAMPUS
A VISION OF HEALING THROUGH ENVIRONMENT
Too often, individuals entering treatment have faced instability, loss, or living conditions that have reinforced cycles of struggle. The Hansen Foundation set out to create a place that breaks this cycle by providing not only a safe and structured space, but one that radiates hope, peace, and possibility. We recently unveiled the opening of our two newest recovery residences on Enlightened Recovery’s Main Campus. These homes add 32 residential treatment beds to our capacity, expanding access to quality care while embodying a vision of healing that goes far beyond treatment alone. They are more than houses. They are sanctuaries where each resident feels worthy of a comfortable place to heal and where hope for a new beginning takes place.
ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

A COLLECTIVE EFFORT
This expansion would not have been possible without the dedication and generosity of partners who share in the Foundation’s vision. Avalon Flooring and the Summers Family Foundation were cornerstone contributors to this effort, ensuring that these residences not only met practical needs but also reflected a standard of excellence. Together, these partnerships embody the spirit of recovery itself - collaboration, benevolence, and the belief that every person has the chance to rebuild.

ENLIGHTENED FARMS GROWING MORE THAN PRODUCE Our mission at Enlightened Farms is to provide fresh, organic produce while supporting individuals in recovery through meaningful work and personal transformation. Our 400-acre farm is dedicated to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and food security. Enlightened Farms employs organic and eco-friendly farming methods to cultivate a variety of seasonal vegetables and herbs, ensuring our produce is as good for the planet as it is for the people we serve. In addition to nourishing our community with fresh, healthy food, we are deeply committed to fostering recovery through agricultural work. By purchasing from Enlightened Farms, individuals are not only receiving wholesome, locally grown food but are also supporting a mission of transformation and sustainability. HEALING THROUGH SOLID ROOTS
At the heart of the farm is the Solid Roots program, which offers individuals in recovery the chance to work the land, gain hands-on skills, and discover the healing rhythm of nature. For participants, it’s not just about growing crops, it’s about building responsibility, structure, and purpose. “I am most proud that Enlightened Farms has been able to provide a space where someone can learn and grow—both individually and professionally—as part of their recovery journey. Seeing Solid Roots employees not only grow food, but also experience where that food goes, enjoy the meals our kitchen prepares, and build relationships with the community has been such a meaningful part of their healing.” Matt Pepe, Farm Director For the two individuals currently working in Solid Roots – Adriana and Hunter, the farm has become life changing. They’ve found stability, direction, and hope. Their journeys are proof that the farm grows far more than produce—it grows people.
NOURISHING THROUGH FOOD
Much of what we grow on the farm goes directly into the kitchens of our treatment center and detox, nourishing clients with healthy, homegrown meals that support their recovery. We also proudly donate a portion of each week’s harvest to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, extending the farm’s impact even further into the community.
CONNECTING THROUGH COMMUNITY
The farm has become a gathering place for neighbors, friends, and partners. Through our Community Service Days, visitors walk the fields, experience the beauty of the farm, and enjoy meals from our kitchen made with the very produce they see growing. Beyond these events, Enlightened Farms takes part in local farmers’ markets and maintains an honor-system farm stand on property where people can pick up fresh produce, eggs, and flowers. We also proudly sell our microgreens at Bonterra Market—a local organic whole foods store we are honored to partner with.
Today the farm stands as a living reminder that when you plant seeds of hope, the harvest can change lives.

QUICK START GUIDE Opioid Overdose Response Instructions
Use NARCAN Nasal Spray (naloxone hydrochloride) for known or suspected opioid overdose in adults and children. Important: For use in the nose only. Do not remove or test the NARCAN Nasal Spray until ready to use. Identify Opioid Overdose and Check for Response Ask person if he or she is okay and shout name. Shake shoulders and firmly rub the middle of their chest . Check for signs of opioid overdose: • Will not wake up or respond to your voice or touch • Breathing is very slow, irregular, or has stopped
• Center part of their eye is very small, sometimes called “pinpoint pupils” Lay the person on their back to receive a dose of NARCAN Nasal Spray. Remove NARCAN Nasal Spray from the box. Peel back the tab with the circle to open the NARCAN Nasal Spray.
Give NARCAN
Nasal Spray
Hold the NARCAN nasal spray with your thumb on the bottom of the plunger and your first and middle fingers on either side of the nozzle.
Gently insert the tip of the nozzle into either nostril. • Tilt the person’s head back and provide support under the neck with your hand. Gently insert the tip of the nozzle into one nostril , until your fingers on either side of the nozzle are against the bottom of the person’s nose. Press the plunger firmly to give the dose of NARCAN Nasal Spray. • Remove the NARCAN Nasal Spray from the nostril after giving the dose. Get emergency medical help right away. Move the person on their side (recovery position) after giving NARCAN Nasal Spray. Watch the person closely. If the person does not respond by waking up, to voice or touch, or breathing normally another dose may be given. NARCAN Nasal Spray may be dosed every 2 to 3 minutes, if available. Repeat Step 2 using a new NARCAN Nasal Spray to give another dose in the other nostril . If additional NARCAN Nasal Sprays are available, repeat step 2 every 2 to 3 minutes until the person responds or emergency medical help is received.
