Whether you’re out shopping or attending seasonal events, keep personal items secured, avoid displaying expensive purchases in plain sight, and never leave valuables unattended in vehicles. Online safety is just as important during the holidays. With more people shopping and sharing information digitally, cybercriminals often take advantage of the season. Be cautious of suspicious emails or texts offering deals that seem “too good to be true,” and never click on unfamiliar links. Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication whenever possible. If you’re ordering packages, consider using secure delivery options or having them sent to a trusted location to prevent porch theft. Finally, if you’re traveling or spending extended time away from home, take simple precautions to protect your property. Lock all doors and windows, use timers on lights to make your home appear occupied, and avoid posting detailed travel plans on social media.
