Connecting College families WORDS | JANE ELWORTHY

T here has always been a strong tradition of parent engagement at Christ’s College, and I am pleased to say that this remains the case today. While the Christ’s College Parents’ Association (CCPA) has taken a few different forms over the school’s 176-year history, it has always been driven by the same core purpose: fostering parent connections, supporting the school, and advocating for the boys. We host four key events during the school year: the Year 9 Welcome Event in Term 1 for the new cohort of College families; House Music and Midwinter Drinks at the end of Term 2; and our Pink Lunch charity fundraiser in Term 4. In addition, we come together for two informal

meetings each term. Please keep an eye out for these events in the school newsletter, In Black & White . Our events and meetings provide wonderful opportunities to meet other families from across the various Houses and different year groups. Through the CCPA levy, every parent is automatically a member of the association, and newcomers are always welcome – whether you wish to volunteer time and skills or simply socialise. Our committee is made up of parents from every corner of College, so you will often see our members at a range of school-wide events. The first person to spot me in the photo below will win a breakfast bun!
