• Social Work MSc FT

Build a rewarding career that helps to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in society, working with children and their families, adults with learning or mental health needs, or those with social disadvantages. Accredited by Social Care Wales and recognised by the regulatory bodies in other UK nations, successful completion of our 2 year fast-track taught masters programme will allow you to register as a qualified social worker. During your studies you will complete 8 compulsory modules and a dissertation, refining critical research and analytical skills in relation to social work practice and policy, and developing professional reflective techniques. 50% of your time will be spent on placement, working with social work agencies, local authority and voluntary sectors to develop your skills and experience through observation and practice. In order to be eligible to apply for this taught masters programme, all applicants are required to have undertaken over 300 hours of direct social care work.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT • Teaching staff involved in research activity at both national and international level, covering diverse areas including looked-after children, service user and carer involvement in education, asylum seeking children and migration, and social inclusion and care needs of older people.
