Are you a leader who has the drive and ambition to take your business to the next level? The Leading Business Growth programme will provide you with the time and space to step back and develop fresh perspectives on your role and how you take your business forward. The part-time executive development programme is designed to leverage both the internationally renowned expertise of Warwick’s faculty as well as opportunities to learn from fellow delegates representing a wide variety of backgrounds. The experience will prove to be thought provoking, challenging, enjoyable and ultimately rewarding. We will engage directly with you and your business to address challenges in key areas of innovation, productivity, digital transformation, strategic and organisational resilience, and leadership. You will also focus on your personal impact as a leader, exploring how you can adapt and evolve your leadership to meet the challenges your business faces. During the six workshops, you will test your ideas and refine your thinking with the support and input of Warwick Business School’s world renowned faculty. You will also leverage the experience and insights of peers on the programme, and industry leaders invited as guest speakers. Build resilience and create sustained growth for your business

You will focus on critical business themes

You will work on your own business challenge

Five cross-cutting themes, that are critical to business performance in today’s economy, will inform and shape the content of each workshop. These include key drivers of change that every business leader needs to understand and grapple with, as well as enablers of growth.

A major benefit of joining the programme will be the space it provides for you to think more strategically about the critical issues you are facing at work. You will have a new forum and network to draw on as you work through a key ‘workplace strategic challenge’, maximising the opportunity for change and improvement.

Our faculty team will deliver the latest research insights in a practical and actionable format that will turn “next practice” into today’s way of working for your business.

This process is primarily an opportunity to do two things: ■ Apply the concepts from the programme to a real-life strategic challenge ■ Leverage the resources of the programme to deliver value and impact for your business.

Innovation For your business to thrive, innovation and improvement is crucial. How do you build organisational capability around innovation, an entrepreneurial mindset to carve out new markets, and achieve success in a highly competitive and rapidly changing landscape?

Executive coaching One-to-one executive coaching will provide the space you need to focus your strategic vision, sharpen your thinking, and reflect on your leadership style and areas for development.

Global business expertise You will learn from Warwick Business School’s passionate and engaging faculty, who will push, encourage and champion you to develop your thinking, resilience and leadership. You will also gain access to key business leaders as speakers, and as part of the wider WBS business network.

Productivity Generating productivity growth is a primary goal for the best managed companies. Investing in technology, process innovation and skill building, while embracing leadership and management best practice to achieve a high-performance workplace, are all keys to competing successfully.

Your workplace strategic challenge

Digital What opportunities does technological progress in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain, open APIs, big data, and platforms present for your business? How will this force incumbents and new entrants in your industry to rethink value creation and business model innovation?

A toolset for business impact Across the workshops, peer learning, coaching and your strategic challenge, you will develop insights, experiences and new skills drawn from the five themes. You will be encouraged to build these into your specific set of tools to achieve impact for your personal leadership growth, and to deliver for your business.

Peer learning This will be a key thread through the workshops and project process of the programme. You will discuss and debate ideas in a creative environment, peers will provide a sounding board and challenge for your new thinking. During each workshop a half- day will be set aside for you to meet in facilitated peer learning groups.

Resilience In a dynamic marketplace, the ability of an organisation to respond rapidly to new challenges and seize opportunities is key to sustained success. Does your business demonstrate the strategic adaptability, operational agility and leadership mindset that creates organisational resilience in the face of constant change?

Leadership How do we lead more effectively? How do we lead in a new kind of business environment? How has leadership itself changed? What does that mean for us individually and collectively as leaders?

The forward challenge for business leaders is to address a context of exponential change, heightened uncertainty, increased complexity and new models of work in the digital age. Authentic, values-based leadership connects employees to purpose at all levels to maximise engagement and performance.

In an environment where technology and the digital landscape is driving rapid change, competitive advantage is transient and short-lived. Business leaders need to embed strategic agility to turn threat into opportunity and deliver sustainable business growth, whether in home markets, or internationally.

Leaders make decisions that profoundly influence and shape the future of the organisation. Mining the full potential of big data and analytics to turn into strategic insight, as well as leveraging the world of behavioural science to fully understand the human factors at work, will lead to higher quality decision-making.

Being a digital business is about organisational change at every level. It is not one project but a collection of all the strands that together will ‘instil’ digital into your organisation at every point; from the customer interface to digitising processes, to the supply chain and generating new sources of value for the business.

The future of work will be driven by learning and agility. Increasing collaboration and connectivity will wire your organisation to allow the easy flow of ideas and unlock pathways to quickly mobilise new initiatives.

You’ve got the knowledge, the tools, now is the time to put your new learning into practice. As well as working on you as a leader, at the core of the programme will be your work with faculty and colleagues to refine, develop and deliver responses to your strategic challenge. Progression of initiatives will be driven by the learning from workshop themes continually revisited in an applied context, your peer learning group engagement, and your personal leadership growth, to create impact within your business. This final event will bring together the strands of innovation, productivity, digital, resilience and leadership essential for sustainable growth. You will share the focus of your strategic challenges and identify the templates for future success, which you have built.

You will use advanced, evidence-based tools to analyse and evaluate your leadership practice. Identify and action new ways of leading forward to increase your personal and organisational impact as a leader for the future economy.

You will be equipped with cutting- edge strategic thinking tools, and will identify the dynamic organisational capabilities that form the bedrock of strategic agility and growth in fast- moving markets.

You will sharpen your strategic and financial decision-making, using critical sound reasoning, critical thinking and rigorous analysis. You will turn information into actioned knowledge, tracking through to advanced performance.

You will identify the most current digital questions / strands for your business – how, when and where they will impact, and the nature of the response required.

You will strengthen your capability to build, lead and shape organisational culture, and will create behaviours and norms that enable innovation and enhance organisational agility.

I decided to embark on the Leading Business Growth programme because I was both interested in the theory and practical application of management and leadership, learning from experts in their field. I wanted to learn more about how I could involve the team in decision and solution making processes The course gave me lots to reflect on including how to give myself the time to make decisions, and to focus, as well as how I can help others to develop and lead. It also taught me that when things go wrong, it isn’t necessarily a failure, and there shouldn’t be a blame culture, instead we should take learnings from the situation. The course has given me the confidence to trust in myself and others. The speakers and contributors were so valuable and inspiring and the discussions we had were extremely insightful.” Andrew Taylor Head of Conferences at Warwick Conferences
