THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM DIRECTOR OF ESTATES SERVICES
UCLan is seeking to make the appointment of an Interim Director of Estates Services.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Director of Capital Projects the Interim Director will lead a large-scale estates team responsible for the delivery of a broad range of estates and facilities management functions across the estate portfolio. You will lead teams spanning the areas of maintenance, engineering and infrastructure management, space management, estates information management, estates helpdesk, catering, cleaning, sport, health & safety, energy management and grounds management and will ensure that the department benefits from strong leadership during a period of change. It is anticipated that the appointed candidate will be directly engaged by the University either on a fixed-term contract basis or as a directly engaged consultant. The term of contract is flexible, but is likely to be for a minimum of 6 months and more likely up to 12 months.
We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of leading the full range of facilities management functions (including both hard and soft services) at a senior level.
You will have exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and will have the credibility and authority to assimilate into a senior leadership position with relative ease.
Experience of operating successfully within large, complex industry leading organisations with comparable characteristics (notably physical estate, live high footfall environment and organisation operating model) to those found at UCLan is essential as is the ability to lead and motivate a large-scale team internal team of estates professionals during a time of change.
