I’m Mae, the owner and founder of The Williams Group Insurance Agency. I have the pleasure of serving over 1,000 clients throughout North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, and Maryland. These clients range from those needing Medicare to life insurance. I worked in healthcare as a Certified Medical Assistant for 26 years. When I felt I had done all I could in that profession, I prayed and asked God for a new path that would fulfill my life as much as healthcare did and allow me to use my transferrable skills to bless others. My prayers were answered when I discovered this profession, which I now serve in proudly every day. I have an amazing 21-year-old son, Darryle, who has been the wind beneath my wings, my biggest fan, and my inspiration. One of my proudest moments was when Darryle decided to get licensed and join the team. I share a love of sports with my four brothers and take pleasure in friendly trash talk about our favorite teams. I was born and raised in Newton Grove, NC, where my 81-year-old mother still resides. She is my biggest referral partner, never hesitating to tell everyone, “My daughter and grandson will take care of you.” I dedicate my business to my dad, Alonia Williams Jr., and my sister, Charlene Pottinger. Gone but never forgotten, until we meet again.
