What is a guided tour? A guided tour is a simple and enjoyable way to discover new destinations (or see old ones in a new light) with like- minded people, safe in the knowledge that all of the little details are taken care of. You’ll have a fully-trained and knowledgeable guide on hand who will ensure you see the top sights, and give you tips and recommendations to ensure you have a great trip, while giving you enough freedom to relax and enjoy the location in your own way. What’s more, when you travel as part of a tour you’ll often get access to places or experiences that aren’t usually open to the general public, so you can experience something that you would never be able to do as part of a regular package holiday.
If you’ve never travelled as part of a tour before , then perhaps you’ve got a few questions? While it’s important to remember that there isn’t a defined tour template and that every single tour we offer is uniquely designed to fit the destination, this is our quick guide on what to expect on a touring holiday.
4
R I N G ?
What is included? While exact inclusions can often vary, guided tours will have all accommodation included as well as your essential transport, along with a selection of sightseeing experiences, and sometimes meals too. Our tours range from fully inclusive to more budget-friendly options, so we have clearly displayed what is included on each offer for you.
Who is a tour for? The simple answer – everyone! We work with a large array of touring suppliers, meaning we have tours available across the globe suited to all different ages, fitness levels, and budgets. Coach travel can be a great way to see a destination, but it isn’t for everyone, which is why we also provide tours where you travel by minivan, by train, and even by boat. Whether you want to join a coach full of like- minded travellers on an epic trip through the Canadian Rockies, travel across Asia on an intimate small group journey, or make new friends while you go island-hopping through Thailand; we can provide the touring holiday of your dreams.
What if I want a more flexible itinerary? While the majority of guided tours still include free time to explore on your own, if you’d rather not travel as part of a group and are looking for a more bespoke touring experience then we can tailor-make an independent tour to match your exact requirements. Look out for offers with the Hays Travel logo to get a taste of the types of independent tours we can create for you. These itineraries strike the perfect balance between the freedom of travelling independently while still having the support of our local experts and representatives abroad to ensure that your holiday runs smoothly.
