Day 6: Lexington – Hodgenville – Bardstown – Lexington The Bluegrass Parkway leads to Sinking Spring Farm - Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace, Lincoln Museum, Lincoln Statue, Lincoln Boy Statue, Bardstown’s Civil War Museum, and a Bourbon Distillery. Day 7: Lexington – Gatlinburg Travel to Tennessee; visit Corbin’s Colonel Sanders’ original fried chicken restaurant and Museum of Appalachia. Spend two nights in Gatlinburg at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains. Day 8: Gatlinburg Today is free for independent activities. Day 9: Gatlinburg – Great Smoky Mountains National Park – Asheville Drive along Newfound Gap Road and stop at North Carolina’s Biltmore Estate. Overnight in Asheville, singer Roberta Flack’s hometown. Day 10: Asheville – Blue Ridge Parkway – Mount Airy – Lexington, Virginia Travel Blue Ridge Parkway from Fancy Gap to Roanoke. Visit North Carolina’s Mount Air, Mabry Mill, and Natural Bridge. Day 11: Lexington – Monticello – Richmond – Williamsburg Visit US President Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello Estate. Take an orientation tour of Richmond and go past St John’s Church. Arrive in Williamsburg for a duo of nights. Day 12: Williamsburg Excursion to Colonial Williamsburg Explore Colonial Williamsburg’s buildings, streets, gardens, taverns, and exhibits. Listen as costumed interpreters debate the steps that led to the Declaration of Independence at the Hall of Burgesses. Day 13: Williamsburg – Mount Vernon – Washington DC Visit Mount Vernon, home of George and Martha Washington. Later return to Washington DC, where you’ll stay overnight. Day 14: Washington DC - UK Your tour ends this morning as you fly back to the UK.

Day 2: Washington DC – Gettysburg Visit John F and Robert Kennedy’s graves at Arlington Cemetery, Capitol Hill, the White House, Lincoln and Vietnam Memorials, and Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. Day 3: Gettysburg – Harpers Ferry – Shenandoah National Park Visit Gettysburg Battlefield and Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. Crest the Blue Ridge Mountains before an overnight in Shenandoah National Park. Day 4: Shenandoah National Park – New River Gorge – Beckley West Virginia leads to lunch in Lewisburg and Fayetteville’s New River Gorge Bridge; before a night in Beckley. Day 5: Beckley – Charleston – Kentucky Horse Park – Lexington, Kentucky Stop in Charleston and cross the state border into Kentucky bluegrass country. Arrive in Lexington to visit Kentucky Horse Park.
