Timekeeping

For employees receiving hourly pay, accurately recording time worked is the responsibility of the employee. Time worked is the time actually spent on a job(s) performing assigned duties.

Employee Work Schedules

Work schedules may vary by department and job responsibility. Student enrollment, scheduled and unscheduled activities and special events may also alter work schedules. The school reserves the right to modify an employee’s starting and ending time as well as the number of hours wor ked to accommodate the school’s needs.

Overtime

Levine Academy is open for business 40 hours per week. Overtime compensation is paid to non-exempt employees in accordance with federal and state wage and hour restrictions. Overtime is payable for all hours worked over 40 per week at a rate of one and one-half times the non-exempt employee's regular hourly rate. Time off on personal time, holidays, or any leave of absence will not be considered hours worked when calculating overtime. In addition, vacation time does not constitute hours worked. Employee ’ s pay will be distributed through Direct Deposit at an appropriate financial institution of Employee’s choice. Employees must make this selection when completing their employee packet.

SECTION 5 TIME OFF POLICIES

General Protocol

All regular and part-time salaried employees are eligible for paid holidays at the regular rate of pay for such employees listed below under the “Paid Holidays” section ; all school year scheduled hourly-paid employees are paid for holidays listed below under the “Paid Holidays” section. The first section below covers Paid Holidays for regular and part-time scheduled employees. The next section covers the school’s Sick Day Policy, which addresses the restrictions and limitations on Sick Day usage, such as using sick days for personal vacation during the school year, taking personal days during “black out” days, overuse of personal days, or assumptions about or the taking of time off without prior agreement between employee and school. Procedures for faculty absences when ill and arranging for substitutes are outlined in the section on “Faculty Absenteeism.”

Paid Holidays

All employees will be paid for the following holidays that fall on the employee’s regularly schedul ed work days, but may be required to work based upon the needs of the School. The following paid holidays are observed:

 New Year’s Day – Facilities Team Only  Martin Luther King Day  Passover — for those days the school is scheduled to be closed  Shavuoth  Memorial Day
