16. As directed by the Assistant Chief of Operations or Deputy Chief, conduct interviews with witnesses and investigate operations and personnel activities within the District.

17. Oversee the maintenance and procurement of the District’s operational supplies and equipment to meet the daily mission of the District.

18. Oversee and manage assigned program managers and the projects assigned to their respective shifts.

19. Exercise strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect, integrate, analyze, and use data and information, and compare and evaluate possible actions or courses of conduct based upon such analysis. 20. Prepare responses to a wide variety of communications that request factual information about the District or involve matters of established policies, guidelines, directives, or standard practices.

21. Under the direction of the Assistant Chief of Operations, act as the District’s Operations representative to other agencies when required.

22. Manage or assist District staff with significant projects as needed or directed.

23. Take and enforce proper safety precautions, anticipate unsafe circumstances, and act accordingly to prevent accidents. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment. The Battalion Chief will identify unsafe actions or incidents that occur within the station or involving personnel assigned. 24. Exercise strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to collect, integrate, analyze, and use data and information, and compare and evaluate actions or courses of conduct based upon such analysis.

25. Properly operate in and function with self-contained breathing apparatus, personal protective clothing, and other specialized equipment as needed or required.

26. Maintain an acceptable rating as directed in the District’s physical fitness standards and fit for duty status.

27. Always maintain an available status when not working a scheduled or unscheduled shift, unless on approved leave.

28. Assist the Assistant Chief of Operations or Deputy Chief with data compilation for the annual proposed budget.

29. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Fire Chief or their designee.
