Day 4: Day at leisure Spend a free day enjoying Ljubljana, or explore further afield, perhaps with an excursion to the wine region of Goriška Brda or the Venetian port town of Piran. Day 5: Urban beekeeping tour & rooftop drinks Enjoy a tour across the rooftops of Ljubljana. Slovenia is often referred to as ‘the land of beekeeping’, having produced some of the world’s most celebrated honey since prehistoric times. Take an apiculture-themed tour of Ljubljana, before heading to the rooftops to see some of the hives and enjoy honey tasting. Day 6: Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle & Lipica Stud Farm Set off on a full-day excursion to the west of Slovenia, with time to enjoy a tour of the wonderful Postojna Cave complex, widely considered to be one of the best in Europe. Continue to the famous Lipica Stud Farm, Europe’s oldest. Day 7: Ljubljana - UK Transfer back to Ljubljana airport for your return flight home.

Day 1: UK - Ljubljana Depart in the morning for your flight to Ljubljana. On arrival, transfer to the Best Western Slon, where you will stay for the duration of the tour. Enjoy some time at leisure on your first day to settle in and acquaint yourself with the local area. The embankment of the Ljubljanica River is a pleasant place to stroll, or enjoy a drink in one of the many outdoor cafés. Day 2: Tour of Old Town & Ljubljana Castle Enjoy a morning tour of the Slovenian capital. Begin with the masterworks of architect Jože Plecnik, whose impact upon the city’s aesthetic character was significant. Next, stroll around the Central Market with your guide, sampling tasty seasonal produce. The tour continues with a boat trip on Ljubljanica River before a funicular ride to the castle with stunning views across the city. Your afternoon is at leisure. Day 3: Explore Slovenia’s famous lakes Embark on a full-day excursion to Slovenia’s two most famous lakes. At Bohinj, there is time for a boat ride and cable car ride to the summit of Mt. Vogel. Enjoy lunch at the top. Then, the afternoon is spent at Lake Bled with its fairy-tale castle and famous 17th century island church.
