Festive Annual Dinner at a Delft Blue Venue

On Thursday, 12 February, the SCTE Benelux Annual Dinner 2026 took place and once again, the Dutch team outdid themselves selecting another unique venue. The Royal Delft Museum “De Porceleyne Fles” in the historic city of Delft, which opened its doors exclusively for SCTE members, is the only remaining factory museum of the world-famous Delftware. After the reception, members were first given a guided tour of the museum, where a guide explained the history and development of the Delft brand, its Chinese influences, expansion and growth, and finally showed the group a behind-the-scenes look at the factory, including a live demonstration of the painting processes, design work, firing in the ovens and glazing of the pieces. This was followed by an aperitif and exceptional four course dinner, accompanied by live music, which was sponsored by Technetix. A number of participants continued the evening with an informal get-together at the bar of Hotel Arsenaal. Once again, the annual dinner proved to be the perfect occasion to catch up informally with industry peers and to establish new connections. Delft Blue pottery has a rich tradition. Inspired by the precious porcelain from the Far East, Dutch craftsmen began creating their own blue-and-white art using brush, fire and patience. Passed down through generations, this centuries-old craft has made Delftware world-renowned. Time does not stand still, and new techniques and contemporary designs are now also part of the collection.
