MIPL Emergency Management Program

• The Learning Management System contains the list of all staff positions requiring ICS 100 and ICS 200 training. • Natural gas awareness training is available online for all interested first responder groups in Saskatchewan. The goal is for all first responders to receive this training every four (4) years. This training is also available during training events coordinated with other emergency agencies. Invitation letters are sent to Saskatchewan first responder groups offering this training.

Emergency Response Training Exercises

Emergency response training exercises are an integral part of emergency preparedness and the training process. The exercises may involve mutual aid partners and regulatory agencies. These exercises allow responders to practice their roles and identify opportunities to improve emergency preparedness.

These are activities designed to evaluate capabilities and multiple functions using a simulated response. A functional exercise will simulate the deployment of resources as well as aspects of problem solving related to the response. Participants will evaluate management of the Incident Command Centre(s) and assess the adequacy of emergency response plans and resources.
