AICC Releases Sales Compensation Report: Salaries Are Increasing AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, has an- nounced the release of its 13th Sales Compensation Re- port. Conducted in early 2023, the survey offers compre- hensive insights into sales compensation and benefits within independent corrugator plants and sheet plants across the United States. Building upon the foundation of the 2021 survey, the 2023 edition includes modifications to questions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, shedding light on the evolving strategies employed by companies and sales employees post-pandemic. This report draws on data from 75 independent corru- gator and sheet plants. These companies employ more than 8,300 full-time employees and operate across all regions in the United States. Collectively, these plants achieved sales totaling approximately $3.9 billion in corru- gated products in 2022. All responses to the survey have been meticulously collected and compiled by Association Research, Inc. from Ijamsville, MD, ensuring the utmost confidentiality. Key Highlights from the Survey: Salary and Compensa- tion include: • The mean base salary for salespersons at independent sheet plants in the United States, as of January 1, 2023, was $80,365. This represents a notable increase of 4.9

percent compared to the $76,621 reported in 2021 and a substantial growth of 10.8 percent from the figure re- ported in 2019 ($72,558). • Regarding total compensation, the survey reveals that this year's sheet plant salespersons averaged $186,872. This figure represents a significant surge from the $141,310 reported in 2021. • As for salespersons in U.S. corrugator plants, the mean base salary as of January 1, 2023, was $89,443. This reflects a growth of 2.7 percent in comparison to the average base salary of $87,101 reported for corrugator salespersons in January 2021. • The total compensation data for corrugator salesper- sons demonstrates a noteworthy increase, averaging $241,728 in the current year's survey. This figure is 13.2 percent higher than the total compensation reported in 2021, which stood at $213,475. These insights provide valuable information on the evolving compensation landscape within independent corrugator and sheet plants.
