Specialized Emergency Response Training
• Make available (through SaskEnergy’s Safety Advisor) all required training. • Ensure employees and contractor personnel comply with company safety training requirements (e.g. First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, firefighting, etc.) • Where applicable, develop and conduct fit-for-purpose emergency response training.
Emergency Drills
• Employees and contractors should conduct drills on an on-going basis to ensure readiness, including, but not restricted to: o fire fighting o first aid o gas release o man down o natural disasters (tornado, wildfire, lightning strikes, etc.)
External Orientation
• As appropriate, brief and familiarize all external groups or agencies having a role in this EPM with the overall plan and their specific responsibilities under the plan.
2.1.7 Exercises An exercise is an organized activity that requires people to take action, solve problems, and make decisions in a team structure as if they are responding to an actual emergency. Essential elements, interrelated elements of the EPM or emergency procedures shall be exercised at least annually to ensure that the EPM is current, comprehensive, and effective.

Drill Drill: a supervised activity that tests a single or specific operation or function. Drills are commonly used to provide training on equipment or test procedures; to practice and maintain skills; or to prepare for more complex exercises. Tabletop Tabletop exercise : a facilitated analysis of an emergency situation in an informal, stress-free environment. A tabletop exercise is designed to elicit constructive discussion as participants examine and resolve problems based on existing operational plans and identify where those plans need to be changed.
