2.2 Activation Charts and Graphics
2.2.1 First On-Scene Strategy
EVACUATE 1
• Protect yourself • Get to a safe area away from the hazard
• Alert other onsite personnel (Operations and Construction) • Call for help (your supervisor or gas control room as appropriate) • Direct workers to safe muster area, conduct a head count and provide instructions

ALARM
• Resist the urge to rush in – others cannot be helped if you are injured • Identify exposure to environments that may be toxic, flammable, explosive or otherwise harmful

ASSESS
• Ensure personnel understand hazards and control actions • Never enter into a hazardous zone • Don breathing apparatus and other PPE as appropriate
PROTECT 4

RESCUE
• Attempt to rescue only if trained to do so

• Conduct CPR and administer First Aid as needed • Summon on-site First Aid for assistance • Follow procedure for medical emergencies
FIRST AID
• Arrange transport of victim(s) to medical aid • Provide information to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) • Call STARS Emergency Link Center at 1-888- 888-4567 or 403-299-0932
MEDICAL AID 7
ESTABLISH INCIDENT COMMAND
• Activate Emergency Response Plan and await further instructions
