Incident Command Structure Level 2: Area Emergency

Definition of a Level 2: Area Emergency • There is a potential for risk to the public or environment, as the emergency could extend beyond company property. • Control of hazardous substance is still possible. • Creates local or regional media interest. • May require the involvement of external emergency services, federal, provincial, or local agencies. • Any work site at which the atmospheric concentration of natural gas in the air is equal to or greater than 5% of the LEL but less than 20% of the LEL and is reasonably expected to remain less than 20% of the LEL
