ADAPTIVE BASKETBALL The Adaptive Basketball program is open to all persons with developmental disabilities. Have fun while building fitness, coordination and teamwork. Participants learn basic basketball skills of dribbling, passing, shooting and playing defense. Open to all skill levels. Parents and caregivers must assist those who may need additional assistance to make this a rewarding experience. Free Individuals with disabilities RCN Occurs every Wednesday beginning Sept. 8 ADAPTIVE BOWLING This class is open to all persons with developmental disabilities. Come out and make new friends, improve your game and enjoy the support of other participants! Set a personal goal and work on improving every week. Parents and caregivers must assist those who may need additional assistance to make this a rewarding experience. Bowling ramps and bumpers are available. Open to all skill levels. Free Individuals with disabilities Alvin Bowling Center Every Thursday, starting September 9, 1–2 p.m. GETTING TO KNOW NATURE Catch some knowledge this fall at the DFNC! Participants will be able to explore the Texas wetland habitat, identifying fish and other aquatic animals with the use of dip nets. Participants also will use their senses to connect with the aquatic habitat, feeling fish eggs, tasting the ocean and hearing frogs. Participants must register online . Free Individuals with disabilities DFNC, Shadow Creek Trails October 8 at DFNC, 11 a.m.–12 p.m. November 5 at Shadow Creek Trails, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
