in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:9); “ I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep” (John 10:11); “ I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25); “ I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). If you put those words into the mouths of Mohammed or Con fucius or any mere man who ever lived, they would be ridiculous and blasphemous. But Christ’s words have stood the test of time and have been proven true. Rev., 1:16 says, “ Out of his mouth goeth a sharp two- edged sword.” This is the Word of God proceeding from the mouth of the Son of God. The Gospel of John begins with these words, “ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Then John 1:14 takes that up again and says, “And the Word was made flesh (or the Word became a man) and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” I John 1:1 begins the same way; Christ is called “The Word of Life.” In Revelation 19:13 He is called “The Word of God.” He is the Word, because as it is stated in Rev. 1:8, “ I am Alpha and Omega.” In other words, “ I am the alphabet; I am the letters that make the words and I am the Word, the Word of God, the thoughts of God, the .expression of God. I am everything that God wants to say fully expressed.” God has said it. God has told all. That is the way the Hebrew letter begins. In Hebrews 1:1-2, we read, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us in His Son.” Jesus Christ is the last word. There is nothing more.

that the voice like a trumpet said, “Come up hither.” It’s going to be something like this: “ Come up hither; you have been down there long enough. Come on. This is it. Let’s go!” and we will be whisked away, caught away, snatched away, raptured away. It could happen today. It may not happen until tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. Who knows? Only God knows when. The Bible just makes it plain that it will take place. We had better be ready. It may happen any moment. Let us move on to the expression in verse 16, “And out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword.” I ’m sure you know what that is. “The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a descemer of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Heb. 4:12). Out of His mouth goes His sword, the Word of God. That is what He said. We know what He said. If you take some of the things Jesus said and put them into the mouth of any other man, you brand that person an idiot. Sup pose you put these words into Abraham’s mouth, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28). Everyone would know that Abraham was crazy, for he couldn’t give anyone rest. Suppose you put these words into the mouth of Moses, “ I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger; he that believeth on me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). Everyone would know that Moses was demented. Supposing you put these words into the mouth of Peter, “ I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). Everyone would know Peter was out of his mind. Only the sovereign Son of God could say, “1 am the door: by me if any man enter
