TYNESIDE AC ADVANCED WEEKEND

On a sunny weekend, the event was played with four entries on an "all play all" twice. It was agreed to double bank on one lawn, and the Clock Lawn was decided to be the better of the water-starved greens, resulting in some tricky play. The results of the first day, in which no one pegged out and Dennis Scarr spent quite some time trying to retrieve his hard-hit shots from the shrubbery, indicate the state of the lawn! The second day was more controlled when Mark provided us with a couple of peg-outs as per photo.
FINAL LEAGUE MATCH AT DOWNHAM CC

Members of Unity Croquet Club from Sudbury came to Stow Hall Gardens for the final league match of the season with Downham Croquet Club. The lawns at Stow were surprisingly green after recent showers and provided a good playing surface. After a day’s play, the visitors emerged as winners by 6 games to 4 and, having won the Northern league, will play in a final with other East Anglian clubs.

At the recent Sidmouth B-Class AC Weekend, Colin Walls took his white round to rover and left the balls like this with his opponent Nathan Baker entitled to a contact.
