The Story Behind the Timetable

In 1971 , we established our first hotel - Shangri-La Singapore. This flagship property located in Singapore. The country code of Singapore is + 65 .

Fast forward to today, our Shangri-La Group is now the pioneer of Asian Hospitality, with more than 100 properties globally. We own, operate, and develop not just hotels but also apartments, malls, multi- complex properties, golf course and standalone restaurants across the globe.

2021 marks the 5 proud decades of Shangri-La reaching new heights and our 40,000+ colleagues work together towards our vision to be the best-loved hospitality group.

We founded the award-winning loyalty program Golden Circle in the Year 1997 , introduced to the market the concept of Chi Spa in the Year 2004.

In 2019 , we opened the first Shangri-La stand alone F&B restaurant outside of a hotel setting which is Shang Social at Changi Airport Singapore.

Our Shangri-La Culture consists of Our Vision – what we aspire to be, our purpose on why we exist and our business statement articulates what we do. United as 1 Shangri-La, we are guided by our 6 Nature and 5 Shared Beliefs: to Do Good, Obsess over customer experience, Own our Success, Compete to Win and Never Give Up.

Inspired by our Asian heritage, now in 2024, we celebrate the fruitful 53 years and continue to strive to be the best-loved Hospitality group.
