Activity 4 – Eats from the East!

Objective: To be familiar with the flavourful cuisine, drinks, dish and food from Asia.

Activity Brief: How to win: First to match all the cards correctly wins! Say: Who are the foodies in this group? If you are a foodie, the game today will be easy for you. We host people to the colourful joys of life, and one aspect is the colourful flavours of dishes we offer. On today’s game, we will play “ Eats from the East!” . Toplay: 1. I will be giving each teams or colleagues with assorted photos that matches one another. One (1) photo of the food and one (1) photo of the Shangri-La hotel with the name of the city or country. 2. I'll give an example. (Show: This dim sum photo is from Shangri-La Shenzen in China, so these are a match) 3. Your task is to match the dishes from Asia within 5-minutes. Once completed, facilitator to check the arrangement. 4. First to answer all correctly, wins. Let’s start. Key Learning: • The Shangri-La Group offers unique flavours of Asia that is adored by our guests in all our properties. The food we offer is only one element on how we host people to the colourful joys of life. • There’s a certain characteristics about Asian cuisine and it’s the various selection from different countries celebrating their spices, unique way of cooking and the stories behind it.

• Biryani – India (Shangri-La New Delhi) • Satay – Singapore (Shangri-La Singapore) • Adobo – Philippines (Edsa Shangri-La) • Nasi Goreng – Indonesia (Shangri-La Jakarta) • Tom Yum – Thailand (Shangri-La Bangkok) 2. Printed cards (Minimum of two (2) sets. Properties may print more depends on their headcount)
