school. She still roped, competing at Red Bluff and Oakdale with a broken left arm from a snowboarding accident. Farkas throws right- handed. “I had that FOMO (Fear of missing out) deal,” Farkas said with a laugh. Farkas returned to school at West Hills in Coalinga. The regular season was a harbinger for the CNFR. “I missed only two calves all year. That is something I’m really proud of,” she said. Farkas is now applying to nursing programs around the region. “I’m leaning toward nursing again. I definitely want something in the medical field,” she said. On her WPRA rookie card this year – she competed on her permit in 2021 and 2022, Farkas decided to alter her professional schedule. “I was going to hit my rookie season hard,” said Farkas. “But between school, work and college rodeo, it was kind of tough. I plan to step back and compete more locally. “I feel like I’m in a better place mentally and physically. Roping is fun again.”
