With so much to do on-site at Costa Navarino’s resorts, you’d be forgiven for not setting foot off the property. However, an exploration of the surrounding area is a must. There’s centuries of history to marvel at, from ancient tombs to mythical temples, and for those looking for something slightly more current, there’s a collection of brilliant boutiques to peruse if you’re looking to treat somebody special (or yourself!). We’d recommend taking a trip down to Navarino Bay, one of the largest natural harbours in the world, and site of the last naval battle in the world to be fought entirely with sailing ships in 1827. Or, if you’ve got an entirely free day, we’d recommend taking a trip up to Ancient Olympia, a UNESCO world heritage site, and the cradle of the Olympic Games, situated around 90 minutes north of Navarino.
