This year’s theme, “Human Systems for a Secure and Resilient Future,” highlights how human systems re - search and development must not only keep pace with the rate of change but also proactively shape the infrastructure, technologies, and policies that underpin national security and resilience. The theme for the 2026 conference will be “Seeding America’s Future Innovations.” These programs provide more than $4 billion annually in competitive awards, enabling entrepreneurs to develop new technologies and ultimately facilitate the commer - cialization of innovation. (Register here) IEEE Conference on Cognitive and Computational Aspects of Situation Management The 2026 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Conference on Cognitive and Computational Aspects of Sit - uation Management (CogSIMA) will take place March 9–12 at the Arizona State University, Tempe Campus, in Tempe, Ariz. The theme of this year’s conference is “Expanding the Situation Awareness Boundary.” The CogSIMA conference series provides an annual venue for presenting multidisci - plinary research of complex systems of interacting humans, machines, computer agents and/or networks whose indi - vidual and/or collective behavior depends on their situation awareness. Examples of such systems include command and control systems, human-robot teams, physical and cyber security situational awareness systems, intelligent transportation systems, and many others. The CogSIMA Conference is aimed at researchers and practitioners from academia, industry and government, with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience including computer science, human factors, cognitive science, modeling and simulation, robotics, and systems engineering.
