K auai-based Shioi Construction Inc. and its Creative Partitions System (CPS) division are anchoring themselves state- wide with 23 ongoing projects in 2023. CPS serves as subcontractor on four O‘ahu projects, including Department of Environmental Services support facilities at the Honouliuli and Sand Island Wastewater Treatment plants, Lili‘uokalani Center, an aircraft maintenance hangar at Wheeler Army Airfield and improvements to Waiākea-Uka Park on Hawai‘i island. playbook in 2022, complet- ing nine projects that included Kōloa Village, Phase 2 construc- tion at the Kapa‘a Elementary School Library and a luau building at the Sheraton Kauai Resort. However, Shioi experienced a 17.5 percent drop in earnings, from $57 million in 2021 reve- nue to $47 million last year. Shioi’s Top 25 ranking fell, too, from No. 19 in 2022, to No. 23 this year. But Roy Y. Shioi, company president, remains positive. “Shioi Construction expects to receive $60 million in 2023 revenue,” he says.
