On June 1st, 2023, we celebrated the graduation of 38 Apprentices as they completed the classroom portion of their Apprenticeship Training. We’d like to extend a big mahalo to our instructors and companies who recognize the need to further education and train the next workforce. We are proud that our graduates are taking one additional step to establishing themselves as skilled craftsmen. As we are on a continued decline and shortage of young craft professionals, we’d like to announce enrollment for our Apprenticeship and new Craft Training Programs which is currently
open for the 2023-2024 school year. Apprenticeship Program The apprenticeship program is designed to train the next generation of skilled workers. Through a combination of academic coursework and on the job training, apprentices can graduate with all the knowledge, skills, and resources to be a journeyworker in the following trades that we offer: Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Roofing. Core – Basic Construction Designed for High Schoolers, recent
college graduates, or individuals wanting to learn more about the construction industry, this course was created to allow ANY motivated individual to get started in a trade. With designed pathways into employment or the apprenticeship program, individuals can start their professional journey with this 6-month course. Electrical 240 Program This course is intended for those who wish to meet the 240 required classroom hours to qualify for the EJ licensure exam. We are proud to offer both an in-person and online option!
Representing 65.6% of all of the State of Hawaii licensed contractors, the Associated Builders and Contractors Hawaii Chapter has been serving Hawaii’s merit shop contractors with 33-years of service and would like to extend a warm felt ‘Mahalo and Congratulations’ to our dedicated members for their years of continued membership! They know a good thing when they see it and we are proud to have them as members. Without the continued support of all our valued members , the voice of the merit shop contractor’s philosophy in the state of Hawaii would only be a whisper.
