The VenoArt Late Summer Auction

Artist: Olga Bolgar I don’t remember when I started to be an artist. I liked to draw from a very young age I started like most children with color pencils, drawing princesses or animals and all that came to my mind. Step by step, I became interested in drawing nature. I didn’t know where to start. I decided to go to a local art studio. It was 1987. Since then I’ve been drawing and painting and haven’t stopped learning about art. I like the process of creation. It makes life meaningful. I like to think about the colors and shapes of future art piece. I like to try different art mediums such as oil, watercolors, pastel, ink, charcoal, pencil etc. I like the process of mixing colors, which is similar to cooking. I like when the air is perfumed with the scent of oil from my paintings. When I paint in the surrealistic style, I cogitate on a main idea which takes my fancy and intertwines with my emotions about subject. Then I do a lot of sketches. When I paint landscapes, I am drawn to wide open nature where I watch for shades, light and mid-tones. I am looking for contrasts and nuances of cold and warm colors. I am achieving lots of “air” in the painting to give the eye an illusion of three dimensions. When I working on a portrait, I am trying to reveal the personality of the portrayed person. I can work a piece intently a hundred times over before it is just right. Artist: Olga Bolgar, American Oil on Canvas Board Title: Figure II 40.64 x 30.48 x 0.25 cm Lot: 172 Starting bid: $450 USA
