Bar 69 AVG BREED AVG
Claw Set EPD (Claw) , a lower EPD being more favorable indicating a sire will produce progeny with more ideal claw set. The ideal target for claw set being toes are symmetrical, evenly and appropriately spaced.
Foot Angle EPD (Angle), a lower EPD being more favorable indicating a sire will produce progeny with more ideal foot angle.
Maternal Weaned Calf Value ($M) builds on $W by adding heifer pregnancy (fertility), docility and the new foot score EPDs. As you can see, the bulls in this sale average significantly higher than breed average for these profitability traits. Bar 69 Ranch has selected for profitable maternal traits for decades, and it shows in the numbers! Weaned Calf Value ($W) provides the expected dollar-per-head difference in future progeny preweaning performance from birth to weaning. $W assumes that producers retain 20% of their female progeny for replacements and sell the rest of their cull female and male progeny as feeder calves.
