Brownlees also served as Chief Executive Officer (the U.K. equivalent of City Manager) for several local and municipal governments in the U.K. prior to moving to the United States in 2017. This prior experience gives him valuable insights into effective governance and economic development. By profession, Brownlees worked as an accomplished accountant and was a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA), the leading body for practitioners specializing in public sector financial man - agement. His contributions to fiscal stewardship in the U.K. public sector earned him the prestigious title of Fellow of CIPFA in 2016. Furthermore, Brownlees is an alumnus of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government Senior Executive Program for State and Local Government, a testament to his commitment to excellence in public administration. Additionally, Brownlees is a Credentialed Manager with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), further solidifying his expertise and commitment to profes- sional development in local government management. Brownlees is married to Jinna, a native of Lubbock, Texas, and a retired colonel who served for 30 years in the U.S. place to live, work and thrive. “

Army Nurse Corps. Their son Alexander is a firefighter resid - ing in Conroe, Texas, with his wife Elizabeth and their baby Callum. Beyond his professional and family life, Brownlees has a passion for drumming. His rich musical background includes having played in marching bands, orchestras, jazz bands and rock bands. Brownlees is also a fifth-generation traditional Ulster-Scots (Scotch-Irish) “lambeg” drummer, which allows him to honor his deep cultural history through his artistic talents. “I am honored to join the Pearland community and contribute to the city's growth and development,” Brownlees said. “I look forward to working with the dedicated team here and build- ing on the city's successes to make Pearland an even better place to live, work and thrive.” Brownlees' appointment as Assistant City Manager marks a significant milestone for Pearland, and the entire community eagerly anticipates the positive impact he will undoubtedly bring to the city's future. His blend of experience in, dedica- tion to and passion for public service makes him an invalu- able addition to the Pearland team.
