RIVERSPORT An official U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site and home of the OKC National High Performance Center for rowing, canoeing and kayaking, Riversport allows fans to be a spectator at events throughout the year, such as the Stars and Stripes River Festival in June and the Oklahoma Regatta Festival in October. Riversport also hosts the Swiftwater Conference & Championship, a national competition and training event for first responders, plus the USRowing RowFest Summer Championships which is slated for July 2024.
SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT While these teams reflect the most popular spectator sports in OKC, Oklahoma City residents show up for one another in every arena. For those looking to find a new hobby or try something a little different, be sure to check out the OKC Spark (Women’s Pro Fastpitch Softball), Oklahoma Freedom (Pro Bull Riding), the OKC Lady Force (women’s professional football) and the Oklahoma Warriors (NAHL hockey). Also home to more national and international equine championship events than any other city in the world, OKC has earned the title “Horse Show Capital of the World.” These events, including the NRHA Futurity and AQHA World Championships, begin late summer and run through the end of the year.
