HORIZONS DISTRICT Horizons District is OKC’s newest district located southeast of Bricktown along the Oklahoma River just east of I-35 and south of I-40. This cultural and entertainment district is home to the First Americans Museum and the much-anticipated OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark, slated to open in Spring 2025. While this district is just starting to emerge, visitors can expect memorable experiences through moments of connection: to each other, to our diverse histories, to fresh perspectives and cultural insights and to our environment.
WHEELER DISTRICT This burgeoning area of OKC is located on the south bank of the Oklahoma River
just west of Western Ave. Its main attraction is the historic Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel (purchased on eBay in 2008), but Wheeler Riverfront Plaza also offers hammocks, games, concessions and green space. Food trucks, a brewery, restaurants, a seasonal farmers market, cycling events and a summer music series have quickly helped make this urban neighborhood a happening hotspot.
